How Often Should You be Working Out?
This is a huge question that is typically one of the first things that always comes up when I am training. Everyone wants to know exactly what they are getting into. I always suggest when you are new to working out that you must start out light. This is very important for several reasons; it allows you to progress naturally and by using light weight you are easily able to adjust your form to make sure that you are in proper alignment.
Before you begin heavy weight lifting you must make sure that your form is right on, you don’t want to self-inflict injuries if you can avoid it. Once you know that you have the proper form and you have avoided injuries while maintaining this routine you are ready to ask yourself one question? Is this weight, workout to light for me? If yes then you are ready to move on as long as you can guarantee that you have proper alignment. I have some great instructional video’s if you are new to training.
Once you are ready to move on you can begin advanced training. I have several video’s on types of advanced training. You may also wish to view my advanced training section. With advanced training comes soreness, fatigue, and questionable strength. You must maintain your form at all times. When you are heavy training you typically will want to have five separate workouts.
- Chest
- Back
- Legs
- Shoulders
- Arms
- Rest
- Repeat
When you feel you have reached your peak see Overcoming Plateaus. I will show you several ways to overcome your peak workouts. You may also wish to check out Sheryl’s Journey to see what type of workout I am currently using. I change my schedule one to every three months.
