Supplements & Steroids
Let’s have some straight talk here, the basic problem is that what may be safe and effective is not legal and what is legal may not be safe or very effective. Steroids, like all other drugs, are tightly controlled by the FDA and must undergo exhaustive tests to prove that they work and do not cause harm - sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?
Did you know that steroids use to be legal? Back in 1970 the government came out with the Control Substance Act which classified steroids into schedule III making it illegal to possess without a valid prescription. Doctors can still legally prescribe steroids under very limited situations and doctors who write too many prescriptions come under very close scrutiny by the DEA so don’t bother asking your doctor for a recreational prescription. Also, you must note that online websites offering steroids are monitored by the DEA. How do they know your looking at that site, your ip, that’s how, its your online fingerprint. Assuming you were willing to take the legal risk, you could use a black market product or buy something over the internet but you will most likely end up buying something that not only doesn’t work but can be very dangerous. Do you want to take that chance…oh and half of the time the stuff you order will be ceased, why, because its being shipped into the U.S.
Supplements have the opposite problem, they are completely legal but unregulated so no safety or effectiveness testing is done. Have you looked at a fitness magazine lately, it is covered with nothing but advertisements…and the articles, most of them are advertisements also, read the fine print. Not only do you trust that the product you are buying is safe and effective but you are assuming that the company is putting the proper ingredients into their bottle, but remember that they are unregulated. I do consume protein powder and trust me I have gone through my fair share to find the one that I trust.
So what should you do? Research the product that you want to use thoroughly, take a minute to look it up on the net. If you do chose to use steroids then please be careful. If you want a great supplement, then do your research, or even try a few different ones until you find the one that you like the best.
There is no magic bullet, there is no secret. You must diet as if you would die from eating the wrong foods and you must train hard.
