Overcoming an obstacle
So you have stopped making progress and you need to overcome your plateau then this is a great way to overcome that obstacle. Make sure that you are only using this technique on a limited basis, meaning 3-6 weeks. This routine is the best way that I feel to overcome a plateau. Completely alternate your routine. If you are doing flat chest press, and decline chest press with the bar then change these to use dumbbells only. Switching between the bar and dumbbells will give you explosive power when you return to your normal routine.
I always alter my routine every 2-3 months, you gave to continue to challenge yourself if you want to reach that next goal.
